now we're here for our first June visit...
and we have Rook....!!!
and this time we're staying 7 nights!
(or NOT! Total Bummer!)
sunday afternoon....
we are back....
i know... all the pictures look almost the same!
that's why i keep coming back!
(this pic has become a tradition!)

monday....
today we're in Bend.....
kinda had a change in plans...
Mom said...
"don't give up on your vacation...
and we want to meet Rook!"
tuesday....
took all four pups for a walk
along the Deschutes River.....
(not enuff arms to hold leashes and take photos...)
kobe and rookie
weren't even tired...
good thing we brought the
purple gorilla for tug of war games...
bogey and chance were more than content
to crash on the patio
and in the doorway leading to the patio...
(chance likes carpet...)
wednesday.....
we had Father's Day BBQ early....
Sprocket comes w/ bro Cam...

Adirondack Chairs and Fence...
(my Mother's Day & Father's Day
gifts for the folks!)
thursday.....
decided to hit the road back home....
total petal to the metal...
made it from Bend, Oregon to Santa Maria, California...
757 miles door to door....
in 12 hours and 10 minutes w/ 4 potty stops!
the kids as we pulled out of Bend at 7:00am...
(little did they know!....
but they slept 90% of the time....)
around 5:15pm...
(somewhere between Soledad and Paso...)
Rookie got tired of sleeping for 10 hours
and wanted to start the
Bite Face Game w/ Chance....
uh... NO!

Kokomo Kompound, California... !!!
friday.....
the kompound is also a wonderful place to vacation!!!!
the spa yard is a very nice place to have
linguini & clams and a glass of chardonnay...
and the kompound kids
love "lawn ornament" mode....
(rook is finally chubby enuff so he can't fit thru the fence...)
saturday.....
Rookie's mom Holly... and sister Poppy visit the Kompound!

unbelievably fun to watch!!!!
even Chance thought he wanted to join in....
sunday....
at last... got to really run off leash.....
took the kids to the medical buildings....
they blew out of the tahoe so fast
the camera could barely keep up!

love to run the paths in the park like setting....
and it's a total treat to watch 9 1/2 year old Chance
run w/ 3 month old Rook!

well... vacation june 2007 sure didn't turn out as planned...
The Other Place hasn't had rain since early April...
foxtails were 3 feet tall where they couldn't mow...
no way we could stay....
but... when you vacation w/ pups
no one complains...
no one asks "are we there yet?"
they are up for anything....
and now it's 140 days until we can go to The Other Place again....!!!
